Chincoteague Camping Weekend, May 28-31, 2010. We'll head out Friday to Pine Grove Campground in Chincoteague, VA for a relaxing weekend at the beach. After making camp on Friday, we'll enjoy a relaxing dinner on site, then head down to the beach for an evening walk. Saturday morning, we'll rent bikes, and tour the refuge to see wildlife up close, including the famous ponies. We'll return the bikes, and have a relaxing picnic lunch, then chill on the beach for a few hours. We'll grab an early dinner out at The Sea Shell Cafe, then hop aboard a sunset cruise to see the ponies and other wildlife at dusk. Sunday we sleep in, and enjoy a relaxing breakfast and lunch in camp before setting out on an afternoon kayak adventure through the back waterways of the island. Back on dry land, we'll head back to camp for a delicious early dinner around the campfire. We'll then head into town for an evening on the town: a round of mini golf, an ice cream cone, and checking out the nightlife. Monday we break camp and head back to the beach, or take a morning hike, before heading home. The NO-FRILLS price for the weekend, including only campsite rental (one tent per campsite), all meals and snacks except Saturday dinner, firewood and supplies is $209M/$234NM. The DELUXE price, including all of the above plus the sunset cruise and kayak trip is $309M/$334NM. Bike rental, Saturday Dinner, and any optional activities in town such as mini-golf will be extra. Adventure Weekend in West Virginia, June 17-20, 2010
We're heading to West Virginia for a fabulous weekend of hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, biking, and more! We'll be staying in a farmhouse and cabins, with our own pool, fire pit, picnic shelter, horseshoe pit and large yard, and will venture out daily from there. Our Friday adventures will include fixed rope rock climbing (Via Ferrata) or hiking (your choice), followed by a refreshing dip in a local swimming hole. Saturday's adventures include a kayak trip through a local picturesque canyon, followed by a visit to Smokehole caverns. Sunday's adventures include either biking at Timberline Resort or hiking at Blackwater Falls State Park! We'll also have night walks, a visit to the Country Store Opry, campfires, and more!
